Closing the Ring Storyline

In 1943, A dying gunner, who was in a crash involving a United States B-17, gives a ring to a local to return to his girlfriend in the USA. Fifty years later, a man finds the ring and tracks down the girlfriend and the history of this ring. Set in Belfast and North Carolina.

Closing the Ring trivia

The B-17 used in the filming of this movie is the "Yankee Lady", owned and operated by the Yankee Air Museum of Ypsilanti, MI. This aircraft also appeared in the movie "Tora! Tora! Tora!" The B-17 named Sally B also made an appearance in this film.
Construction workers of a demolition site in Belfast, where filming took place, were told to put the tearing down of the houses on hold and leave a number standing for the shooting of the film, the remainder of the houses were then blew up for the movie (for the affect of the bombs in the second world war).
The movie, Ethel Ann ('Shirley MacLaine' (qv)) is watching after her Husband's funeral and remembering Teddy, her first true love, is _The Glenn Miller Story (1953)_ (qv) with 'James Stewart (I)' (qv) and 'June Allyson' (qv).
